Weekend wonders

Two Posts today as I missed yesterday (great start I know).
The first Friendly Fires album was stuck on repeat on my iPod for many months, I even saw them live 3 times in 2009 and again at Glastonbury last year. What I really like about FF is that they are band who draw massive influences from Dance music, and particularly the Balearic sounds of Ibiza. A comparison that has been made many times and no doubt will continue to be made.

When an album like theirs has such a massive impact on me, with standout tracks such as 'Jump in the Pool', 'Skeleton Boy' and of course the anthem of 2009 that was 'Paris', I find it quite difficult to accept that a 2nd album could ever live up to its predecessor. Pala does that. With the opening track 'Live those days tonight' showing that the band are back, having developed their sound into an Indie-Dance Genre that will surely lead them to greatness. My track I have chosen to share is 'Blue Casette', with it's massive vocals, Tropical like drums and now an even higher standard of Production. This track fits the summer months perfectly. The Friendly Fires are back. Something I'm pretty happy about!
